What is Permanent Jewelry?
'Permanent Jewelry' is a custom-fit chain secured to your wrist, ankle, or neck using a jump ring that is welded together instead of a traditional clasp, creating a 'permanent' piece of jewelry. We use a painless micro-welding technique to close the jump ring.
You can choose from a variety of chain styles in long-lasting metals to create a bracelet, anklet, or even necklace. Bracelets are the most popular! |
Why Get Permanent Jewelry?
A tried & true trend, permanent jewelry offers a long-term approach to wearing timeless jewelry. The absence of a clasp creates an effortless look, as well as eliminates the struggle of putting on jewelry by yourself, since it is secured to your body for as long as you'd like it to be.
Additionally, sharing a permanent jewelry experience with a friend or family member is an excellent way to make memories together and create a long-lasting bond! |
Other FAQs
✦ How long does it take?
The process only takes about 10-15 minutes, and we are currently offering appointments in 30 minute increments to allow you time to choose your chain and ask any questions. If you feel you need more time to browse our selection, you're welcome to arrive early! A 30-minute appointment can accommodate two guests. If you'd like to come with more than one guest, please book separate consecutive sessions.
✦ Does it hurt?
Not at all! The micro-welding process is painless.
✦ What is it made of?
We currently offer 14k Gold-Filled and Sterling Silver Chains. 14K Solid Gold to come!
✦ What is "Gold-Filled"?
Gold Filled jewelry consists of a base metal with a very thick layer of solid gold pressure-bonded to the surface. By definition, the gold layer must make up at least 5% of the piece's total weight. Gold filled jewelry is resistant to tarnishing and can last for many, many years if cared for properly. It's a very popular alternative to solid gold due to its versatility, durability, and affordability.
Gold Filled is different from Gold Plated, as Gold Plated jewelry is simply dipped in gold. Gold Plated jewelry often tarnishes quickly with wear, as there is just a thin layer of solid gold covering a base metal. We do not use any Gold Plated materials for Permanent Jewelry.
✦ How much is it?
Pricing depends on type of metal, and currently ranges from $55-$85. Please note, pricing and chain designs are subject to change and availability. All Sales are Final.
✦ What happens if it breaks or I need to remove it?
We offer sturdy, durable chains that should last years, however they are not indestructible and still needed to be treated with care. Should your jewelry break at the weld or jump ring, you are welcome to return to the boutique to get the chain welded back onto you, free of charge. However, if the chain is lost or becomes broken along the links, a new chain will need to be purchased at full price to be replaced and re-welded.
If you need to remove it for any reason, chain cutters will do the trick. Be sure to cut it at the jump ring and save your chain so it can be re-welded if desired!
